OVERSLEPT!

It's been one of those days. (Do I hear snide remarks like ' her everyday is one of those days'?)

It began with an early morning class. Friday morning is also 'Ahmad morning'. I pick up the girls for class because parents are at work. Off to class and when we finished, I sent them back. Today is Wookie's vet visit day.

So I went home, picked him up and off we went. Somehow, I picked a wrong day to go. It's the holiday season and many people came in to make sure their pets are taken care of etc. So it was a long wait When we got there, we were the only ones in the waiting area. I could see that the doctor was busy with a lady's cat in the consultation room. It turned out that she had at least 3 cats with her. You might say, what's so difficult about sitting and waiting.

Not with a squirming Wookie on your lap. I wanted to keep him on my lap instead of placing him on the bench. Not nice lah, they have a lot of Muslim customers there and they might mind having a dog on the bench. But wiggly, squirmy, hyper Wookie  is not the lap kind. Whoever says Shih Tzus are lap dogs obviously have not had Wookie on their laps before. It was so tiring keeping him occupied for that half an hour.

Got back around noon, a quick shower and off we went to pick Alison up from school to get a bite to eat. "David, order something for me while I run into the supermarket to grab a few items. I am in charge of refreshments for LifeGroup tonight so I have to cook"

"Ok. What do you want?"

"Dunno, surprise me. But it must have a veg."

So we went our separate ways, David and Alison to the Chicken Rice Shop and me into the supermarket. I hate having to shop when I am rushed for time. I usually end up confused and flustered. Decision, decisions, decisions. The brand, the price, the amount.............................

When I was done, I rushed over to choke down my food. I had to get David to the LRT station ASAP because he has an afternoon paper (his last for the year)

When I got back, it's chop, chop, cut, cut, wash, wash, then cook, cook. It was past 3 when it was all done.

Have I mentioned that I am having rodent problems again? It has lessen now (not so much poo and pee) but they still exists. So, I had to wash the back area. Wash. wash, wash.........................."Ali, please help me mop the house"

She did (Thanks Sweetie). By the time, I have a minute to catch my breathe, it was about 3.45pm. " I am going upstairs for a shower and a short nap, Li. Mummy's exhausted" Cooking and cleaning always dirties me up.

The short while lasted much longer.............................*tune of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang* (my handphone ringtone) "Hello", I answered groggily.

"Teacher ah, Cui Xin here. Your students are all waiting for you since 5!" (MY BEDSIDE ALARM CLOCK SAYS 5.35!)

Oh ****!!! " Ok, I am coming"

Quick change and dashed into the car but when I got to the main junction, I hit a massive traffic jam. More ****

But I got there in the end, apologised profusely to the girls asked them why they didn't call when I was like 5minutes late or something like that - no answer. But they were very sweet about it, and knew that Teacher Katy don't just oversleep. In fact, this is the 1st time I overslept for classes. There was another time I overslept for something else but that's another story. And technically, I was not late that time.

Let it be known that on this day, Friday 28 October 2005, Katy Cheong overslept and was late for class! Lately, I find myself getting exhausted easily. I think age is catching up on me. Or maybe I am catching up to my age.

aiyah, i told ali to relay the message to you, not to use the mrr2 to enter tm but to go by the back way. anyway, you have the jam jam to blame for adding to yr lateness.

She did. I chose to take the chance because I will be even later if I have to go all the way and back down again.
