New Addition to the Cheong Family

On June 19th 2005, Wookie Cheong was born, oops, bought.  Wookie is a Shitzu.

Cute Doggy.jpg<- This is Wookie.
Andrew and I went to SS2 for his favourite Kampar noodles. On our way to that coffeeshop, we past by the pet shop and I suggested a little browse.

My 1st glimpse of Wookie was him impersonating a fluffy pillow. He was just a bundle of fur for 2 miniature pinschers to lie on. There were another 2 shitzus, equally adorable on display. We stared, oohed and ahhed a little then left to fill our stomachs. When we were done, Andrew asked if we are going to stop by the pet shop again. My reply was a smile.

Let's rewind and go a little further back. David have been asking for a dog for ages. We thought and talked about it a great deal. Having a dog is not just HAVING a dog. It comes with a lot of responsibilities. Almost like a baby. (Ask David now if having a dog is easy and he'll have lots to say) So therefore, getting a dog was not totally out of the blue.

Back to my story. We went back to the pet shop. By that time, Wookie was awake. He is a lot rounder than the other two shitzus. There he was, playing with the little ball, looking very adorable. Then  I did something which was almost a 'no turning back' move - I asked to hold him.  That's it, Andrew knew ( I think, although he did not say so)

An hour later and RM970 poorer, I called David on our way home. When he heard Wookie's little yelps on the phone, he was probably the happiest boy in the world at that moment. Ok, so he's going to be 20, and therefore, technically a young man but he'll always be my 'boy'.

It is Day 3 now and we are still trying to get to know each other. On the 1st night, he cried nearly the whole night, poor fella. But we were warned that it will happen. Last night was better and we hope by tonight he's completely adjusted.

It has been a while since we have a pet in the house. My last hamster, Vader died a while back. It means a lot of adjustments for the whole family. David, of course, have been kept very busy because Wookie has been 'marking his territory'.

Why the name 'Wookie'? Well, he looks like Chewbacca the Wookie, that's why. Amongst the names contemplated were Scruffy or Scruff for short. Jabba was considered but he does not look at all like Jabba. Well, actually he looks a lot like Gremlin but I don't think I want to call him Mogwai which means devil in Chinese.  I thought Bundles was quite nice too but we settled for Wookie and Wookie it is.

After now having laid eyes and hands on him, I must say he's quite the most adorable thing by far in your house at the moment! :P

Wooks (my new nick for him) is gorgeous and I hope he brings you, Andrew, David, and Ali many, many years of joy and laughter...

I, too, thinks that he's the most adorable thing in my house at the moment. :)

He will become even more adorable once he's toilet trained. Tedious job.

Same like my Shih Tzu pet dog here in Singapore! B.J. is his name. brown n white too! except that B.J. is way older than anyone whom I know. He is 16x7 years old. So that is also why his hair is getting lesser, eye sight getting blur, teeth dropping out and pls do excuse his bad breath. I bet Wan Tze can help to describe more of his breath. hahah!

Ah well, All the best in dog training,Katy!

Yes, I heard about your B.J. Wanz did not tell me about his bad breath though. He is now sitting at my feet chewing on something imaginary.
