Star Wars 3

No, I am not writing this journal because I have watched it. I STILL have not! I tried yesterday. The queue was as long as anaconda and I was somewhere in the belly of the huge snake when they announced that the tickets for the 3PM show are all gone. Disappointed, I walked away to look for something to eat. When I tried to book the 5PM show through telephone, I found out that it was sold out too!

So many people have watched it and nobody have told me, "It's great! You must see it" blah blah blah. In fact, it's the contrary - don't go. But how can I not? I have been with it since the beginning. Since before Luke found out that Leia is his sister. ( Luke who???. Darth Vader's son lah)  I have watched nearly every making of, before there were making ofs. I have watched documentaries of how they shot those space fights frame by frame using small models. I have even got aquainted with Chewbacca's family. Yup, he has a wife and, if I remember correctly, 2 little 'chewies'. No, don't worry, you have not missed much. It was a very terrible half hour thingy.

So now, tell me, how can I miss SW3, the Revenge of the Sith? I shall certainly attempt to catch it again sometime soon. One thing I managed to get though, It's the copy of Time with the picture of Darth Vader on the front. Time did it with the 1st episode, with Darth Maul (the 1st time I saw the 2-edged light sabre), Yoda in the 2nd and this time it's Vader himself. I shall now have to find my other 2 copies which I kept so well that I had forgotten where.

In one sentence, let me spell it out:

"Star Wars (the prequels) have become the tragedy of modern times, with torrents of movie fans all around the world standing in line at box office queues in countless countries, still full of hope and faith in their hearts even when they already half-suspect that all the dreadful movie reviews they've read about are basically accurate and that Sith is shit, but their memories linger back to the time when they remember the magic moments they enjoyed while watching Star Wars back in the day when the series didn't piss all over itself, and where logic gives way to nostalgia." - Julian Wong
