Cleaning out the Shelves

Today, I cleaned out the bookshelves. I took out all the stuff, cleaned it and put them all back.

One of my major gripe-why can't all books be of the same size? Why must some be a little taller? Some a little broader ? I mean, a paperback, is a paperback, IS a paperback. Isn't there a standard size for them?

My pride and joy is probably the collection of Agatha Christie books. Andrew and I have been collecting these since our courting days. There's also the entire collection of 3-in-1 hardcover Tin Tin books. Unfortunately, it does not include the earlier 2 books, Land of the Soviets and Congo. Then, there's those numerous dance books that I spent thousands of $ on.

But I digress. So there I was, taking them out, putting them back in etc. Where does what go where................. as so on and so forth. At one point of time, practically all the books were on the floor! Wookie had that 'my mummy's gone mad-look on his face'. I could not decide which goes where!

And of course, at all cleaning sessions, there will be the moments when one stumbles upon old, sentimental, forgotten pieces of stuff or books and proceed to read. Now THAT is a time-consumer. I stumbled on an old testpad where I scribbled a few choreographic works from many years ago. It was interesting to read through them and reminisces a little.  All the girls of whom I choreographed for in that testpad have finished and nearly all of them are not even in the country anymore.

Then I came across a whole stack of Cutting Edge, my church's magazine. Needless to say, I began to flip through several issues, wasting more time.

Sigh, it's amazing I finished.

Let me help you. I promise to have it spit-spot by the end of the day. It may mean you will never see some of your stuff again, though.
