Big Bag/ Small Bag

I always marvel at how some ladies can get away with moving around in a tiny bag. How can people survive with a small bag?  My essentials are my purse, all those important documents like MyKad, driver's license, credit cards, tissues, lipstick, eye-drop, keys, a pen, hand phone, Ponstan. This list are the BARE ESSENTIALS. Extras would be my PDA, perhaps my DS and some Voltaren.

After my 'Ragut' incident, I am going though a massive change of lifestyle. I have been using backpacks since I can't remember when. I used them whether they were in style or not. One can put just about anything in them. A student of mine called it 'Teacher's Doraemon bag', another called it the portable pharmacy because I usually have a few different kinds of 'fix-its' in there. It's also a receptacle for rubbish. I once found a Giant Supermarket receipt dated January but it was already August or something like that.

So here I am being pushed out of my comfort zone and had my security blanket  bag snatched away from me. I am now learning how to use a pouch bag. One can't just fit everything into a pouch bag unless it's a huge one. Huge ones are just so....................HUGE.

For the past week, Hooi Koon lent me one of her pouches. It's really very nice, but it's SO SMALL! Every night, I struggle with deciding on what to go in. Today, I left my studio keys at home. Thank God Bee Hong was in early or I may have to go all the way home to get them.

So back to my question earlier, how can people survive with a small bag? For example, in the good olde backpack days, if the plane I am travelling on crashes on the 'Lost Island', I could provide some people relief from muscular pain for at least a few days. But these days, I probably do not have enough tissues to even blow a nose.

Some solutions must be sought. I cannot live like this. I am simply NOT a small bag person.

so you're not going to use the backpack anymore? i thought Mr Cheong bought the polo bag last year?

my aunt gets paranoid with snatch thieves, even in Permata, even when she's drying clothes outside. she hides her essentials in her pocket and wears ghetto clothes.

be very careful even when you're drying clothes outside your porch. happened few times in permata, women's gold chain/blink-blink/etc were snatched.

Small bag = one wallet/purse (not the big fat ones), handphone, pen.

Those are essential enough, no?
