If I were the Transport Minister

Andrew and I were talking oveer dinner, exchanging traffic jam horror stories. I heard from someone today, the exodus back to KL after the Chinese New Year holidays were so bad it stretched 60 km down South. Then Andrew told me that his collegue took 12 hours to get back to town from Penang.

Then I told him if I were the Transport Minister, jams will be a thing of the past. I will impose;

a)    That cars with less than 4 people be made to pay a levy when they travel outstation during festive seasons. This will encourage car         pooling, saving fuel and the environment, not to mention keeping the number of cars on the road at check.Harassment.

b)    Want a new car? Think carefully. The road taxes should be 3x the normal amount for the first 3 years.Anti-social.

 If I think hard enough, I could probably come up with a few more unwelcome suggestions. But my guess is, I won'[t be popular and someone may just take a gun to my head. Matrix.

I think I might be one of those who'd be taking a gun to your head unless you first improve the public transportation! =)
