A lump

A week ago, I found a lump under my right armpit. Mixed emotions ran through me. Of course, my 1st reaction was fear, simply because I lost my sister-in-law to cancer a little more than a month ago and her cancer began with lymphoma. I asked Alison to feel it and she was absolutely optimistic. "No, Mummy, it's probably an insect bite"

But it did not feel like an insect bite. It was not red and it felt like a lump UNDER the skin, not on the skin as a bite may be. I prayed.

That night, I asked Andrew. "It's probably a boil. It'll get bigger, develop pus and erupt".

I prayed.

As the days went by, different thoughts ran through my mind. Which oncologist should I check with, if it's cancer, what actions should I take..............................different scenarios playing through my mind.

But it has grown smaller. It's still there but definitely smaller. Just a scare? Perhaps but nonetheless, a wakeup call to be vigilant.

Still praying.
